Spring has sprung! Technically speaking. Literally? Not so much. The weather has been a little less than desirable here, but that’s typical for Calgary. Luckily there have been a few beautiful days to enjoy so I took full advantage and threw on my new favourite pink jeans! It really got me excited for Spring and all the pretty blooms that come with it. I added a few of my favourite basics and headed out for lunch! I hope everyone is enjoying some great weather with family and friends too! I linked what I wore and some similar items below.
Happy LOVE Day! I wanted to share a look inspired by Valentine’s Day so here it is! I love this pink blouse and thankfully it ended up being beautiful this weekend so I couldn’t resist adding my fave pink heels! To keep the look neutral I added a leopard clutch and sunglasses with some feminine jewels. I hope everyone has a LOVELY weekend!! PS – excuse the puppy fur <3
When I purchased these cute little booties, I was so excited that I could finally wear my skirts and dresses into the winter for once! I’m very petite so unfortunately most boots do not fit tightly around my calf. I feel like I end up looking a little strange (or shorter than I already am). Enter the ankle boot! I wanted to share this look that includes a few of my staples lately, plus show how I incorporate some of my summer favourites during the winter months!
I don’t know if it’s a case of the winter blues but I have been loving all things grey lately. This fine knit sweater is so cozy and goes with almost anything! I paired it with a black skirt, I like that this one has a little dimension in the pattern but nothing too overwhelming. The best way to incorporate the summer pieces you love is to add a pair of leggings. I would suggest finding ones that have a thicker blend or are insulated to keep you warm! Another great tip I have learned is to pair black opaque tights with a black heel or bootie to elongate your legs. Finally I added a little bling and my cozy faux fur scarf to finish it off!
I love holiday traditions and starting new ones in our own home! There were a few things on my list and baking some cute cut out cookies was one I was excited to find time for. So I thought I would share a quick recipe for some holiday baking here. Decorating these was somewhat of a challenge, I would highly suggest grabbing some tools to do this! Michaels has a great selection of supplies. Enjoy!
3/4 CUP BUTTER – SOFTENED
3/4 WHITE SUGAR
1 LARGE EGG
1 TSP VANILLA
2 CUP FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 TSP CREAM OF TARTAR
1/4 TSP SALT
Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix remaining ingredients in a separate bowl then stir into batter. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface. Cut into shapes and put on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes at 350 ° F. Let cool and then decorate!

Dressing up for the holidays is one of the best parts! I took full advantage this year and wore this cute holiday look to my Christmas party for work! I felt so ladylike in this look, straight of the 50’s with a tulle skirt and button up plaid blouse. Since its the holidays you can’t forget a little sparkle! I added one of my favourite statement necklaces, some fun tights and black heels to finish off my outfit. This Christmas don’t be afraid to kick your heels up and dress for the occasion!
I’m so excited that Christmas is almost here! I love Christmas, it truly is one of my favourite times of the year. The decorating, the glitter and all of the festivities make me so happy! Oh and the shopping! If you’re like me you usually like to get all pick up your gifts early to avoid the hectic scene at the malls. But since we were away for the last part of November, it left me with ALOT to do for the holidays and not a lot of spare time to get it all done! Thus leaving me to do some last-minute shopping! The one plus is that there are a ton and I mean a TON of deals on everything right now! I thought I would share my favourite picks with you.
I also included some gift wrapping inspiration for packaging them up! This was so much fun! I promise you can easily add a little charm to your gifts! I have always wanted to include greenery, it’s so festive! I picked some up from my local supermarkets and floral stores. I found these bell gift tags and snowflakes, I immediately knew I had to use them! They were perfect to give our gifts a little something extra! I also love finding unique wrapping paper that matches my style and décor. Happy gift giving everyone!

Hello! It has been over a week since we got home from vacation. We traveled to Jamaica for the wedding of two of our best friends and were honored to stand in their wedding party on the special day. I had a hard time packing for this trip, it was my first time at a resort, let alone out of North America so I had no idea what to bring. I definitely over packed and learnt the hard way what the necessities will be for our next trip. While we’re trying to get settled in for Christmas, some of you might be jetting off somewhere warm in the new year so I wanted to share my vacation style and packing tips!
When it comes to vacation style, I know most people choose bright colours and patterns, but since we would be going for two weeks, I decided to go with some classic pieces that I could mix and match. There were a few outfits and pieces that I kept going back to though, including this look! One thing that I was not prepared for was the humidity, especially with it being the end of rainy season so I included my beauty must-haves as well! I attached links for as many items that were still available or similar options that I love!
First up, I knew I had to pack some neutral t-shirts that would go with anything and could be dressed up for any occasion. I actually wish I had brought more of these! I brought a few pairs of shorts, I had way more than I needed, I only ended up wearing jean and white jean cut-offs and the high-wasted black ones featured in this post. These are a favourite that I had picked up just before the end of summer and hadn’t gotten a chance to wear yet. I adore them! They can be dressed up or down which is great when you want to pack light!
In the evenings I thought I would want to wear dresses every night, but most of the days are spent on the beach or by the pool, so dresses end up being your go to since you can easily throw them on! Like I mentioned earlier I ended up loving my shorts so I could have brought a few less dresses. Another great piece to bring is a cute cover up, I sadly waited too long to look for these in stores during the summer and missed out. I ended up buying a cute black and white sarong in town that I loved and can be worn so many ways, plus its a great souvenir that you can actually use!
I always order a few new suits before a trip to keep up with new trends that I love! I usually pick pieces that again mix and match with ones I already have. I majorly over packed here! I found myself wanting to wear only my new favourites! I easily could have stuck to 10 pieces that I could alternate between.
Foot wear is not something that I typically take too seriously, strangely I’m not a huge shoe gal. I was pretty happy with my choices! I brought sandals in black, white and silver. I packed strappy black and nude heels which personally felt too formal but I’m glad I had the option.
Obviously we cannot forget about this sunny vacation must-have! I brought my two favourite fedoras which I pretty much lived in considering the nightmare that was my hair. Also great for protecting your beautiful face as well. I wish I had brought along my floppy hat though which is so stylish and offers a lot more protection! I opted not to bring it because I didn’t want in to get ruined in my luggage but in hind sight bringing something like this on the plane is probably the best bet!
I brought a ton of jewelry with me so I had options (the fear of not having options is a scary thing to me!), plus I had my cute new jewelry wrap so it seemed natural. Anyway, I would suggest bringing classic pieces here as well. If you’re not wearing it at home chances are you won’t decide to on vacation. Stick to your everyday pieces and add in a statement necklace or sparkly baubles for special dinners.
I knew I needed to be prepared when it came to cosmetics considering we would be in a wedding. I needed my makeup to stay put for the big day. Unfortunately heat and makeup are two things that don’t go together without a little help so I brought my favourite primers and a setting spray. My hair sadly did not fair well on this trip! I have not seen this kind of humidity probably ever, except watching friends and I really should have taken the memo! I would highly suggest bringing some products to help beat the heat! After some extensive research, these seem to do the trick!
If your like me you love being organized! In a perfect world everything has a place and it makes it so much easier to stay put together. That doesn’t mean you can’t do it in style though and that’s just what I did with the help of these chic traveling accessories!
Last but not least the accessories you can’t live without while lounging pool or beach side! Staying hydrated is so important in the heat so I like to bring water with me! Before we left I downloaded a ton of great new music, cute ear buds make it even better! I also packed my fave sunnies and reads.

Happy Friday everyone! Starting a blog has definitely made me a little more adventurous when it comes to my fashion choices and it has been a lot of fun! I wondered what was holding me back all along, probably the fear of being totally out-of-place or over dressed! I realized that its silly to care so much what other people are thinking or if they approve. We should be exactly who we are at each moment in our lives. Afterall, I’m a believer that your personal style and interior tells a little about who you are!
My fashion choices typically depend on my mood that day which can be tricky for a planner like myself, but this look ended up being totally appropriate for the day we had planned. My hubby to be and I went on a lovely fall walk where we took our engagement photos, I love all of the amazing colours of fall!
I have been looking for the perfect marble knitted sweater to wear with my (faux) leather leggings. We have officially entered into some crisp air here and this thick knit was the perfect and the length worked well with the leggings! They are a great way to take a look from comfy to chic and on the plus side, they are actually super comfortable! I love that I can go from day to-night with them too, I love them with a chambray top, white tee and converse for a casual look or a blouse, statement necklace and heels for an evening out. I went with my favourite leopard flats, felt floppy hat and an oversized bag.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I’m off to celebrate one of my beautiful best friend’s bachelorette this weekend in the amazing rocky mountains, leather leggings included!
I had wanted this post to be up for my usual Friday post but sadly I just couldn’t find time to finish it up! Anyway, I thought I would share today because I just couldn’t wait, I loved this look! Its so nice to slow down every once in a while, find your centre and get rejuvenated! We have been busy celebrating with friends and spending time with family, it was wonderful to have some time to relax last weekend. The weather was beautiful so we took Ted to the park and enjoyed the gorgeous fall view. Mind you, it’s that time again, and by that I mean its hockey season again so we were on a bit of a schedule!
After searching for the perfect pair, I found these suede booties recently (on sale!). I couldn’t wait to wear them! I wanted to keep the look chic so I went with a classic white button up and boyfriend jeans. The accessories were simple with a black shoulder bag, my favourite fedora and a black bangle.
We will be having our Thanksgiving dinner today and heading to the corn maze Thanksgiving day to pick up some Halloween pumpkins! Thank you for reading, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend with loved ones!
TGIF!!! Sharing a look from last weekend today to get you inspired for a casual fall look! We had such a relaxing weekend with family and I was excited to sleep in and get rejuvenated. We were back to normal weather for September thankfully, so I wanted to throw together a quick post!
I picked this burgundy floppy hat up a while ago and have been dying to wear it ever since! We went over to my in-laws for family dinner on Sunday afternoon and I wanted to be comfy. I paired a light wash pair of jeggings with this lace pullover top and my leopard shoes go with almost all of my outfits lately so I threw them on. The next few weekends will be busy with a lot of friends, family and decorating, but I hope to get a few more fall looks on hello lovely! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
